Battery replacement on Renault Clio 2

Model: Renault Clio Clio 2, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Battery

Lift the hood and put on the special support rod. As you can now see the battery is on your right. With the 13 mm wrench unscrew and then disconnect the negative pole (always the negative pole first). Once this is done, unscrew and disconnect the positive pole with the same key. With a long socket wrench, still 13mm, unscrew the bolt that anchors the battery to the rest of the car. Remove the battery from its seat by pulling on the handle. Insert the new battery and proceed backwards for assembly: anchor it with the 13 bolt, connect the poles and that's it.

How to Replace the Key Battery of the Renault Clio

This operation is very simple and will only take a few minutes. First, divide the two parts of the key by lifting them with a flathead screwdriver at the four clips near the metal key, sliding the upper flap upwards to separate them. This will give you access to the battery located above the key's circuit board. Remove it to make space for the new battery, ensuring you install it in the correct orientation. To reassemble, simply reverse the steps described above.
