How to Replace the Cabin Filter on a Renault Scenic III

To change the cabin filter on the Renault Scenic III, the manufacturer recommends replacing it every 15,000 miles. First, remove the cap on the side of the glove compartment, passenger side. Then, remove the seal from the glove compartment. Also, remove the seal from the passenger door, which comes off easily. This will help you remove the scuff plate to access the lower pillar on the inside of the passenger door. Continuing to remove the door seal, take off the side panel of the glove compartment, which is connected to the wiring by a connector that you will disconnect. Now, unscrew the 4 screws holding the glove compartment in place, until you reach the 5th screw which is more internal and the 6th. At this point, the glove compartment will come out easily. Locate a connector that you will gently remove, and move the wiring harness. Find the plastic cap, which has side clips. Press them and remove it. Pull out the used cabin filter and dispose of it according to current regulations. Insert the new filter into the designated space, following the arrows indicating the airflow direction. Now, replace the cap, reposition the electrical cables and the connector, all six screws of the glove compartment, the connector and its side panel, the seal, the lower pillar, the scuff plate, the door seal, then the glove compartment seal and the cap on the left side of the glove compartment. The job is complete.
