Check Glow Plug Efficiency

Model: Renault Clio MK 2, Clio 2 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Glow plugs

A glow plug is essentially an electrical resistor that, when powered, heats up and prepares the combustion chamber, improving thermodynamic conditions for the first start. To check its proper functioning, first ensure it is powered: you can use a test light (one lead to earth and the other to the glow plug) or directly a multimeter; when the ignition is on and as long as the corresponding light on the dashboard is illuminated, the glow plug must be powered (the test light will illuminate and the voltage will be displayed on the multimeter).
Once the power supply is confirmed, check that the resistor is not open or faulty: disconnect the eyelet of the power cable and check the resistance either with the test light (one lead to positive and the other to the resistor: if the light comes on, the resistor is closed) or directly with the multimeter (it should measure less than 2 ohms).
Finally, you can also remove the resistor and power it with battery cables: it will glow red.

How to Remove the Diesel Filter on a Ford Focus

How to remove the diesel filter on a Ford Focus? Lift the car on a column lift or suitable jack (if necessary), locate the diesel filter as shown in the video. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the metal piece that secures the filter (you can also use a socket spanner). After disconnecting all the circulation pipes and the fuel cable: remove the diesel filter housing from the vehicle (replace it with a new one). Finally, refit the filter to the attached diesel filter housing (connect the pipes and cables) and tighten the appropriate bolts. Close the bonnet.
