This is a descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil and oil filter on a Sherco 300 SEF-R. Obtain 1 litre of oil. Position the bike on a stand or central lift. Place a container for used oil under the engine. Start the engine, allow it to reach temperature, and then turn it off. Using a ratchet and a 10mm socket, remove the screws securing the skid plate. With a ratchet, remove the screws securing the sprocket cover on the left side. Use a 4mm Allen key to remove the two screws from the bracket. Using a ratchet and a 17mm socket, remove the oil filter cover located above the sprocket. Extract the oil filter and replace it with a new one. Using the ratchet, remove the oil drain plug located under the engine on the left side. Let all the oil drain out. Reassemble everything. Open the oil filler cap located on the right side of the engine. In earlier versions, the manufacturer specifies 450cc of oil, plus an additional 650cc. Measure the old oil and pour in the same amount.
