Operation: How to remove the Smart Fortwo sun canopy

To remove the sunroof of the Smart Fortwo cabrio, we must first open the tailgate of the car itself. Now unscrew the two bolts that secure the soft top to the sides of the car, on the inside at the rear lights, and start folding it upwards. We disengage the canvas part of the hood from the rigid bar that is in the lower rear part of the same and we proceed to disengage it also along the side perimeters. We can now lower the rigid bar and continue to disengage the soft top from the sides. When you reach the passage on the horizontal roof, it is necessary to remove the plastic piece that includes the high brake light. To do this it is necessary to unscrew (using a special wrench), in the corresponding internal part, the 4 bolts that fix it in position. We remove it being careful to disconnect the power supply. At this point, unscrew the 2 external bolts that block the soft top at the top crossbar, slide the soft top of the horizontal roof using the electric control, and, by moving the pieces necessary for the sliding of the soft top into the tracks (as indicated in the images), slide the hood forward again to unscrew the 6 screws (3 on each side) that we find under the rail protection. At this point the game is done, we disengage the rear part of the soft top from the crossbar of the horizontal part and we can remove it from the car.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
