This guide describes how to replace the engine oil, oil filter, and air filter on a Suzuki Bandit 600 from 1999 to 2004. Obtain 4 litres of Motul 5100 SAE 10W40 oil, HIFLO HF138 oil filter, and HIFLO HFA3615 air filter. Position the motorcycle on the centre stand. Place a container for used oil disposal under the engine. Remove the engine oil drain plug located under the engine using a ratchet and a 17 mm socket. Allow all the oil to drain. Meanwhile, clean the plug thoroughly. Use an oil filter wrench to unscrew the oil filter located at the front of the engine. Moisten the seal of the new filter with a bit of oil and screw it on, first by hand, then tighten it a turn with the wrench. Refit the oil drain plug. Open the oil filler cap located on the upper right side of the engine casing. Pour in the oil according to the level inspection hole at the bottom. Start the engine, let it warm up, turn it off, and check the oil level again. Using the ignition key, remove the seat. Unscrew the two tank retaining bolts with a ratchet and a 10 mm socket. Widen the tail section and lift the tank, sliding it off the guides towards the seat. Close the fuel line with a special pliers for pinching hoses, then disconnect it from the tap. Remove the breather hose from the tank. Take off the tank. Using a star screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the filter cover and slide it upwards. Replace the air filter, repositioning it correctly. Reassemble everything as per disassembly.
