In this video, see how to replace the battery of a Chinese scooter (this method should work for most scooters): you only need a crosshead screwdriver. In most scooters of this type, the battery is located under the central footwell, beneath a cover secured with four crosshead screws, where the battery is held in place by two screws at the terminals.

Remove the screws and extract the old battery (dispose of it at an authorised recycling centre). It's a good idea to measure the battery compartment, as it may accommodate a larger battery.

Then, place the new battery in position, securing the terminals: check if the scooter starts, then refit the cover onto the base, and the operation is complete.

How to Replace the Variator of the Honda PCX 125
