The tyre pressure monitoring system light on GM vehicles activates when it is necessary to adjust the tyre pressures. Each vehicle has its own reset characteristic. For the Pontiac Torrent, to reset the light, turn on the instrument panel and press the button with the vehicle symbol, located on the central console to check the current tyre pressures on the display. Keeping the instrument panel on, exit the vehicle and using a pressure gauge and an air compressor, inflate the tyres to the correct pressure. The correct pressure is indicated not only in the vehicle's user manual but also on a label located on the driver's side front door. After inflating all four tyres to the correct pressure, get back in the vehicle, restart the instrument panel, and press the aforementioned button again.
