Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
Golf V, MK 5, Golf 5
- Years 2003-2008 Before we can start, we will have to go and open the front hood of our Volkswagen Golf. So let's start by removing the plastic cover of the timing belt. After that, we will have to loosen the service belt tensioner, and then remove the service belt itself. Once this is done, we will have to remove the lower pulley cover and all the components placed in front of the timing belt, simply by unscrewing the relative bolts. At this point, we will have fully reached the timing belt. We therefore proceed with loosening the relative belt tensioner, to then remove the belt itself, and we will have finished the disassembly. To assemble the new belt and close everything, we will simply have to follow these steps in reverse, and we will have finished the disassembly.
