How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Volkswagen Golf

Before starting, open the front bonnet of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by removing the plastic cover of the timing belt. Next, loosen the tensioner of the auxiliary belt, then remove the auxiliary belt itself. After that, remove the cover of the lower pulley and all components in front of the timing belt by simply unscrewing the respective bolts. At this point, you will have full access to the timing belt. Proceed to loosen the corresponding tensioner, then remove the belt itself, and you will have completed the disassembly. To install the new belt and close everything up, simply follow these steps in reverse, and you will have finished the assembly.
