Answer

The Ford Fiesta passenger compartment fan often only works in position 4, while in positions 1,2 and 3 it does not. This happens because the first three positions are connected to a resistor, while position 4 is connected directly to the car's 12 V battery. The cause of the malfunction could therefore be the burnt resistor.
