Answer

When the Mazda CX 9 fuel gauge has a malfunction, the cause must be sought in the fuel reading unit. This is located in the tank to measure its level. There are some types that are connected to the pump group, other types are self-contained - it depends on the year of construction - but they are all made in the same way: a float, a metal arm and a variable resistor. How can it fail? If the float separates from the arm then it always marks empty. It will always mark full if the resistor fails, which is always open and reads as if it were all full. If, on the other hand, it swings sharply between empty and full, then the mechanical arm attaches to levels and detaches with sudden movements, or with the normal movement of the vehicle.
