How to Remove the Fuel Pump from a Mazda CX-9

This guide shows how to replace the fuel pump in the Mazda CX-9. After removing the left rear seat using the four securing bolts, you can access the fuel pump inspection area. Remove the carpet from the bottom of the vehicle to expose the pump cover. Remove the four securing screws and take off the cover. At this point, disconnect the control electrical connector and the fuel supply line. Prepare a container to collect any remaining fuel in the line. Unscrew the pump body securing screws and pull it out while allowing the fuel to drain. Install the new unit and reassemble everything in position.
