Answer

When there is a problem with the IMS on the Porsche Boxster, there are not many alternatives. Since these are very compact and powerful engines (see for example the S 987 model), it is necessary to contact a specialized workshop to have a precise diagnosis made on the causes. In most cases, the mechanic will suggest a single solution: replacing the bearing with a completely intact and problem-free one. The kit is American and can be installed without removing the entire engine, but the gearbox must be removed in order to have access to the bearing.
