What is the problem with the IMS shaft bearing in the Porsche Boxster?
Years 2005-2011

Answer

All versions of this Porsche Boxster model, as well as the previous model, may have malfunctions in the IMS shaft bearing, also known as the "intermediate shaft". This bearing is easily subject to wear and, since it directly drives the camshaft, breaking it can lead to serious engine damage. The problem can be prevented either by installing a higher quality bearing or by implementing a targeted and constant maintenance plan.
