Volkswagen Jetta - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 5, A5 - Years 2005-2010
Part: Engine
Operation: Flywheel shaft roller cage failure

It is quite unusual that rust can form inside the gearbox, however the video shows the failure of a bearing which is actually a real roller cage that has the function of centering and rotating the shaft that couple the flywheel to the crankshaft; a break of this type is really rare and can cause a lot of damage as well as to the clutch to all the rotating elements inside the gearbox since the rollers that make up the roller cage, in fact, can end up everywhere and generate many damage; during reassembly it is therefore recommended to apply grease to the roller cages to prevent the formation of new rust.
