Answer

Chevrolet Beat has a scaled down version of Fiat's multijet engine. By decreasing the cubic size, more power can be obtained, but the engine is put under a lot of stress during operation, making it more prone to reliability problems. Indeed in these engines which are 936 cc, the components will not receive adequate lubrication and the engine wears out rapidly. The seals deteriorate, the oil pan is leaking, the oil seal is bad and the car is leaking oil and producing black smoke. Chevrolet recommends changing the oil every 7,500 km (against 10,000 for the multijet) but users in the forums even talk about 5,000 if they want to keep an efficient engine.
