How to Fix the Seatbelt That Won't Retract on Your Honda Acura ILX

Model: Acura Ilx MK 1 - Years 2013-2022

If the seatbelts in your Honda Acura ILX won't retract or have trouble retracting, it's likely because they are dirty. You may not see it, as they are gray and dirt doesn't show up well on gray, but that's the reason they struggle to roll back in. The best solution is to clean them. Get a large bucket filled with hot water and a mild detergent that doesn't create too much foam. Place it on the seat next to the affected seatbelt, after laying a large towel on the seat to prevent it from getting wet. Pull out the entire seatbelt and hold it in place with a plastic spatula. Immerse the seatbelt in the bucket and let it soak for about twenty minutes. Then scrub it a bit, rinse with a sponge, and dry thoroughly with another towel. You'll see that now the seatbelt will retract without any issues.
