Instructions for Removing the Third Brake Light

Model: Audi A6 MK 3, C6 - Years 2004-2012

The so-called third brake light is installed at the center top of the rear window. To remove it, first take off the plastic cover strip located between the headliner and the rear window. This is secured with push clips, so pry it down to release it (use a plastic trim tool instead of a screwdriver). Next, remove the side clips that hold the third brake light in place and disconnect the corresponding connector. Proceed in reverse for installation, securing the light with the side clips, connecting the power connector, and repositioning the plastic cover.
