Replace the Cylinder Head Gasket

The gasket is a component that sits between the cylinders and the cylinder head, ensuring that oil and coolant do not come into contact or leak. The main cause of its damage is usually overheating. You can perform a DIY replacement that also offers significant cost savings. First, drain the engine oil and coolant, remove the alternator belt, and unscrew the spark plugs and their respective leads. Once everything is free, you can remove the valve cover from the cylinder head. Pay particular attention during the tightening phase of the cylinder head to the cylinder block. To do this correctly, you need a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the correct torque value.
