Replacement of the thermostat valve of the Audi A3 MK2

In this video, we see how, to replace the thermostat valve that regulates the engine cooling system of the Audi A3, we need to open the front hood. Using a 10mm wrench, we unscrew the nut that secures the oil dipstick and move it to be able to maneuver it better in a rather tight space. We place a basin to collect the liquid that will leak out when, after unscrewing two bolts that hold it, we remove the valve cover. We remove it and replace it with a new one, also changing the related gasket. We put the cover back on and screw the two bolts using a 10mm swivel wrench, paying particular attention to the bottom bolt. We put the oil dipstick back in place, top up the coolant level. We start the engine and bring it to temperature to verify proper operation.
