To replace the thermostat on an Audi A3, open the bonnet to access the components in the engine bay. First, you need to remove the air filter box to gain access to the components at the front of the engine block. Here, you will find the coolant passage pipe, which must be removed by unscrewing the appropriate bolts. The thermostat underneath can then be extracted from its housing and replaced with a new one. After the replacement, all the components can be reassembled.
