If the Audi A3 is not equipped with the convenient remote-controlled rear hatch opening, we can fix it with a simple intervention. Let's get some pneumatic pistons that have spiral springs at the base. We open the rear hatch and with the help of a small screwdriver, we remove the metal block from the fixing heads of one of the two pistons installed as standard, disconnecting them from their seats, being careful as the hatch, not properly supported, may lower a bit. We replace the piston with the one equipped with springs and repeat the operation on the other side. Once both new pistons are installed, when we activate the remote-controlled hatch opening, it will open by itself, but the closing remains manual.
