Having the automatic opening of the boot on the Audi A3 is very convenient when your hands are full with luggage. If your model does not have this feature, you can remedy this by installing aftermarket gas struts.

Open the boot, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the metal locking clip, and pull out the old struts, replacing them with the new ones. Refit the locking clips and close the boot.

When you activate the opening with the remote, the boot will open automatically. The closing must be done manually.
