Automatic tailgate opening for the Audi A3

If the Audi A3 is not equipped with the convenient remote tailgate opening, you can remedy this with an easy intervention. Obtain pneumatic struts with spiral springs at the base. Open the tailgate and, using a small screwdriver, remove the metal lock from the mounting heads of one of the two standard struts, disconnect them from their seats, being careful as the tailgate, if not properly supported, can drop slightly. Replace the strut with the one equipped with springs and repeat the operation on the other side. Once both new struts are installed, when you activate the tailgate opening from the remote, it will open automatically, while the closing remains manual.
