How to Replace the Upper Control Arm on Rear Wheels with Independent Suspension

Model: Audi Q7 MK 1, 4L - Years 2006-2015
Part: Control arm

Place the car on a lift and raise it to the ideal height for working on the wheels. Remove the rear wheel. Locate the upper control arm and, using the appropriate wrenches, loosen the bolt that secures it to the wheel. Use a hammer and a punch to extract the bolt. Now use the suitable wrenches to remove the 2 bolts located in the center of the control arm that secure the alignment mechanism of the cables connected to the wheel. Finally, loosen the bolt that connects the control arm to the body. Remove the control arm from its position and replace it with the new one. At this point, proceed to install it by reversing the steps taken. One note: Use a hydraulic jack to compress the suspension when tightening the bolts. The vehicle is an Audi Q7.

Open the bonnet and secure it, lift the car on a column lift (if necessary, remove the front wheel using a screwdriver to take off the right wheel arch liner).
