This guide shows how to replace the air filter on the BMW R 1200 RS. The air filter is located under the fuel tank, so you need to remove the seat using the ignition key. Use a Torx spanner to remove the plastic cover above the motorcycle logo. Also, with a Torx spanner, remove the screws on the side covers of the tank. At this point, you can remove the top plate of the tank by unscrewing the newly exposed screws. By unscrewing the four screws of the cover located above the tank cap and below the handlebars, you will reveal the air filter. Replace it with a new filter, ensuring the correct airflow direction, and reassemble the protective cover.
