How to replace the cigarette lighter fuse on a BMW 5 Series or X Series

In this video we can see how to replace the fuse of the cigarette lighter, which is also a power outlet, on a BMW 5 Series or X Series. The light on the cigarette lighter is off, which means the component is not working. The most likely reason is a burnt fuse, so we check the box located inside the trunk, on the right side, just above the wheel arch. Here we will find a small door in the carpet that allows us to access the fuse box. Normally there is a legend underneath showing the position of all the fuses, otherwise the same table is in the owner's manual. We look for the ones we are interested in: fuses 54, 65, 108, 147 and 176: Most commonly it is 54 or 65. so we start with those, which are located in the passenger compartment, in a small drawer behind the glove compartment. The YouTuber shows us the position of the two fuses, we check them and indeed one of them is burnt. We replace it and everything starts working again.
