Let's see how to install replica fenders on a BMW 2002: they are never a perfect "plug & play" fit, but require modifications to integrate seamlessly with the body line. In this case, it had a belt line that was not aligned with that of the door, creating a visual misalignment. Therefore, the original fender is removed, and the replica fender is dry-fitted for a test. To align the contours, the YouTuber uses an angle grinder to thin out the area of the fender where the belt line is located from the inside: this allows the metal to yield and bend manually inward, progressively shaping the fender against a hard edge. The modified component is secured with rivets and, in some critical areas, with spot welding; internally, it is reinforced with a second weld, and after the modifications, the belt line is perfectly aligned. This is a process that requires skill in sheet metal work and appropriate equipment; it is not an operation that everyone can handle.
