Shifter Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Shift knob

Obtain a new shifter suitable for your vehicle. First, detach the shifter cover by pulling it upward while pressing down on the top side with both thumbs, then gently lift it completely. Remove the screw of the retaining ring for the cover and shifter located under the shifter knob and pull it out of its seat. Reinstall the new shifter using the cover from the old model. Reattach the shifter and carefully reposition the cover, ensuring the shifter moves freely.
