Replacing the Shift Knob on BMW 5 Series

Model: BMW Serie 5 E61, E60 - Years 2003-2010

Before starting the shift knob replacement, remember to disconnect the battery for safety reasons. Once done, let's work on the shifter: pull the boot out of its housing using your hands as shown in the video. Now, also by hand, remove the base of the shift lever from its housing. This step is necessary to later disconnect the shifter connector. Once done, you are ready and safe to remove the shift knob: simply pull it with force to achieve this. Reverse the steps for reinstallation.
