This video shows how to adjust the handbrake on the Citroen C1 (also applicable to the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo, as they are essentially the same car). The video demonstrates that pulling up the handbrake raises it to six or seven clicks, while the standard should be three or a maximum of four clicks. It’s very easy to adjust. Remove the rear centre console, then the one with the cup holders, which can be done easily by prying with a plastic spatula. Underneath, you will find the mechanical components of the handbrake, which you will adjust by tightening, turning counterclockwise, until you achieve the desired result. Refit the cup holder and you have completed your work.
