This guide describes how to replace the engine oil and oil filter on a Ducati Panigale 1199R. Obtain 4 litres of Motul 7100 SAE 10W40 oil and an HIFLO HF159 oil filter. Position the motorcycle on the rear stand. Start the engine, allow it to reach temperature, and then switch off. Use a 4 mm Allen key to remove the eight retaining screws from each fairing located under the engine covers. Place a container for used oil disposal under the engine. Use a ratchet and a 17 mm socket to remove the oil drain plug located underneath the engine. Allow the oil to drain and clean the magnetic plug thoroughly. To replace the oil filter, remove the filter cover located under the left side crankcase. Use a ratchet and a 10 mm socket to remove the two retaining screws of the cover. Insert the new filter and the cover gaskets, then reattach the oil drain plug. Open the oil filler cap located on the right side of the crankcase. Pour in the oil, referring to the inspection hole located at the bottom of the crankcase. Start the engine for one minute and switch off. Check the oil level.
