To tension the chain on a Ducati 748, first remove the panel covering the sprocket on the left side of the bike. Once this panel is removed, you will see the underlying sprocket. Next to it, there will be a bolt that can be tightened to increase the chain tension; a similar bolt can be found at the end of the swingarm, near the rear sprocket. Once the chain is properly tensioned, reinstall the panel covering the sprocket.
