How to Replace Front Shock Absorbers on a Fiat

To replace the front shock absorber on a Fiat vehicle, you need to: remove the wheel after lifting the vehicle, first remove the top support plate of the shock absorber, then remove all the wiring and the 10 mm nut that holds the brake line above the brake disc. Use penetrating oil to loosen the two screws that hold the shock absorber to the hub; at this point, the shock absorber is free and can be extracted. Then take the kit that allows you to hold the spring tension and put tension on the spring itself. Next, remove the nut that secures the spring to the shock absorber (bump stop, bearing, and plate) so that you can extract the shock absorber from the spring. Take the new shock absorber and the new dust cover and reposition the plate with the corresponding bearing and bump stop, tighten the nut again and then release the spring tensioning kit. Finally, repeat all the operations in reverse to reassemble all the components.
