Removing the Rear Brake Drum on a Fiat Punto

Model: Fiat Punto MK 2, 188 - Years 1999-2011
Part: Brake drums and shoes

To check the wear of the rear brake shoes, you must remove the drum. First, loosen the wheel fixing nuts of the rear wheel before lifting the vehicle with a jack and placing it on suitable axle stands (engage first gear, place a chock under the front wheel, and release the handbrake). Complete the wheel removal and unscrew the centring bolts on the drum. At this point, lever around the circumference of the drum to extract it without getting it stuck. Once you reach the brake shoes, locate the automatic adjustment ratchet: this indicates the wear level; if it is very open, it means the shoes are worn, and after replacement, the adjustment must be reset.
