How to Repair the Brake Pad Wear Light on the Ford Transit
Model: Ford Transit
MK 8
- Years 2014-2024
When the brake light illuminates on the dashboard of the Ford Transit, the most common issue is a broken sensor wire (often on the driver's side, front or rear). Check the sensor wires on the left front and left rear wheels; they are almost always broken. If the sensor is broken, replace it by disconnecting the old one and fitting a new one. You can find a matching one on auto-doc.co.uk, but be careful about the fitting direction: the tip should face the disc. Then repair the wiring; if it's broken, solder the yellow/white wires and insulate with heat shrink. Secure the sensor well (even with cable ties) to prevent it from breaking again. Turn on the ignition. If the light has gone out, you are finished.
