To replace the piston on the Gilera RCR 50, loosen the screws securing the seat and the fuel tank to their housing. The tank can then be removed from its position by disconnecting the hoses and connectors underneath. At this point, you can remove the engine block by loosening the screws that secure it to the supports and disconnecting all hoses and connectors. This will allow you to proceed by removing the cylinder head and cylinder, detaching the piston from its connecting rod. Now you can insert the new replacement part, then reassemble all the components you just removed.
