Replacing the timing belt on a Honda Civic, here’s how to do it. Lift the car on a column lift, remove the front wheel and the left wheel arch liner. Once these operations are completed, remove the timing belt cover panel (stored in the engine compartment). Using a spanner, loosen the second tensioner and slide the belt off its seat (remove the auxiliary belt). After fitting the new belt, use a fixed spanner to install the tensioner roller, tension it until the correct belt tension is achieved (fit both belts). Finally, check the tensioner and the belt itself. Close the bonnet of the Honda vehicle.
