To replace the third brake light bulb on a Honda Civic, open the rear hatch, so you can detach the clips that secure the upper part of the internal trim of the hatch: once this panel is removed, you will be able to locate the screws that secure the third brake light from inside its housing.

When these screws have also been loosened, you can disconnect the connector and pull out the corresponding light unit: the bulb inside can be removed, allowing the new one to be inserted and secured.
