To replace the third brake light bulb on the Hyundai Sonata, park your car on a flat surface or on a ramp, ensuring it is securely immobilised. This allows you to work safely and protect your wellbeing.

Such precautions should be taken every time you perform maintenance on any vehicle. Now, open the boot lid, and beneath the panel where the third brake light is located, identify and disconnect the electrical connector of the light.

Next, lower both rear seat backs (the video shows how to unlock and perform this action). Now, remove the padded elements on either side of the seat backs and the plastic covers directly above them by unscrewing the bolts that secure them.

Finally, remove the panel where the third brake light is located by unscrewing the five screws that hold it. At the bottom of the panel, you can access the bulb and easily replace it.
