The location of the legal chassis number (VIN) of a vehicle must be known by its owner, as, in case the Police decide to carry out a cross-check with the chassis of the vehicle recorded in the registration document, the owner must be able to indicate it. Naturally, the chassis number is not the one we see on the tag on the driver's side of the windscreen. That is just a courtesy number, used by the dealer for managing the new vehicle that is still without a registration plate. The chassis number of the Hyundai Tucson is located in the cabin, on the passenger side. Lift the mat, and under the passenger seat, you will find a plastic tag. Beneath that, there is a cut in the carpet that gives access to the stamped chassis number (VIN).
