Hyundai ix20 - Video tutorial

Model: Hyundai ix20 OJ - Years 2010-2019
Part: Brake pads
Operation: How to fix squeaky brakes on a Hyundai IX 20.

In this video tutorial, we can see how to fix squeaky brakes on a Hyundai IX 20. Secure the car with a stone or any other object you find to block the wheels. Release the handbrake and put the car in neutral. Loosen the wheel nuts while the wheel is still on the ground, then lift the vehicle using a hydraulic jack and place safety stands. Continue loosening the nuts and then remove the wheel. Loosen the brake caliper bolts with a 14mm wrench and then remove them. Place a container to collect dirt under the brake caliper. Remove the brake caliper, if it doesn't come off, use a screwdriver to help. Remove the bracket with the bearings (the bolts may be different, make sure to reassemble them correctly). Remove some rust with a wire brush, the clips will fit more easily. Use lubricant spray and put the clips; apply some silicone grease, even on the outside, to make it easier to put the caliper back. Clean the discs with a brake pad cleaner. Put back the bracket with the bearings (use reasonable force to tighten the bolts). The holes on the piston should align with the pin on the brake pad; put back the caliper bolts. Test the discs as shown in the video.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
