Before changing the oil, start and warm up the engine for a few minutes to increase the temperature of the circulating lubricant, which will reduce its viscosity and make it more fluid during drainage. Unscrew the bolt that serves as the drain plug, as shown in the video, and collect the used oil in a container (dispose of it properly). Clean the drain plug before refitting it. Now unscrew the upper plug of the oil sump and add the same amount of lubricant that was drained (if unsure of the required amount, measure what was drained).

How to Reset the Engine Oil Light on a Yamaha XMax 250

This short video demonstrates the procedure to reset the engine oil light on a Yamaha XMax 250 scooter. The operation is very simple and quick; first, insert the motorcycle key into the designated slot and turn it to the first position to power on the instrument panel without starting the vehicle.
