Let's see how to remove the bumper and rear light of the Kia Sportage MK5: start by opening the tailgate. In the two wheel arch compartments, remove 3 Phillips screws on the vertical part (at the sides of the bumper), slightly detaching the wheel arch liner to access the next screw. From underneath the vehicle, remove all the push clips along the lower edge of the bumper, and two 14 mm nuts on each side. Disconnect the electrical connectors, then proceed to remove the rear light (a necessary step to reach the last screw of the bumper). We need to remove the inner panel: in the load area, on the side of the light, we find a cover panel with two tabs. Insert a spatula and pry it off. Behind the panel, we find two screws that we will unscrew. Grasp the light and pull it decisively towards the outside of the vehicle: it will come away with its electrical connectors, which we will disconnect from the light. Now we see the last screw of the bumper, and we can remove it. The bumper is now held only by plastic clips; slightly detach the wheel arch liner, hold the metal wing with one hand, and pull towards you with the other hand decisively. This way, we will remove the bumper, but be careful of the sensor cables, which are still connected, so disconnect them. That's it.
