How to Replace the Faulty Switch of the Tailgate of the Kia Picanto

If the tailgate of your Kia Picanto does not open, the problem is often the switch. To replace it, open the tailgate and remove the inner trim panel. Unscrew the two cross-head screws (one on each side) and detach the panel. The switch is secured with four nuts (or screws) that need to be removed. Pull out the switch and disconnect the electrical connector. Install the new switch (available on Amazon with code B0D39YN6QJ for £15.00, with free delivery), reconnect the connector and secure the nuts. Reattach the trim panel, inserting the fastening clips first. Check the operation by pressing the switch: the tailgate should open.
