How to replace the engine air filter in a Lexus IS

Model: Lexus IS MK 2 - Years 2005-2013

To change the engine air filter in a Lexus IS 2, turn off the engine and open the bonnet. Locate the filter box on the passenger side of the engine bay and remove the intake cover by releasing the three pressure clips and the plastic fastening. Then lift the airbox cover and unclip the four metal clips holding it in place. If necessary, disconnect the airflow sensor connector and loosen the intake duct clamp to move the cover. Remove the old air filter from the box and clean the inside of the housing. Insert the new filter in the same position and ensure the seal fits correctly around the entire edge. Close the airbox, secure all clips, and reconnect any disconnected connectors and hoses. Finally, reattach the intake cover and check that all fastenings are secure before closing the bonnet.
