Resetting Maintenance on the Mercedes Sprinter

Here’s how to reset the service light on a Mercedes Sprinter W906, pre-2010 model with a standard dashboard, thus with a segment display. The sequence is based on a combination of buttons and beeps. Insert the key and turn it to the 'ON' position to power the dashboard without starting the engine. On the left of the dashboard, find the scroll button (sometimes called 'mode' or 'trip'). Press the button until the display shows 'main menu'. Hold the reset button (usually the same button used to scroll) for a few seconds. When you hear a beep, you can release the button. A confirmation message will appear on the display saying 'reset?'. Press and hold the button again until the number '2' or a confirmation appears. Release the button, then press it again briefly: the display should show a message like 'service reset', or the odometer display returns to normal. Turn off the ignition. Done.
