To replace the rear light bulb on a Mercedes CLS, you need to detach the rivets securing the plastic covers around the boot area. Once these covers are removed, you can move the carpet near the light and disconnect the underlying connector. At this point, loosen the bolts that secure the light to its housing so that it can be removed. Once the light is pulled out, you can open it from the back and extract the bulb, replacing it with a new one.
