However, you will need an OBDII scanner. The OBDII scanner typically costs around $100 on major e-commerce platforms, but it will be useful in many situations, making the expense worthwhile. By connecting it to the OBD port, which all recent vehicles have, using a specific cable, you can read all the error messages that the vehicle's control units may communicate. This includes the SRS (or airbag, as it is also known). This light can be on for many reasons, perhaps simply because you disconnected the negative terminal of the battery, or because you unplugged a connector and then restarted the vehicle without resetting. In any case, the OBDII scanner will inform you of all the errors present in the control unit, and you can clear them to turn off all the warning lights.
