How to check the battery level on a Mercedes E-Class W211

Let's see how to check the battery charge level on a Mercedes E-Class W211: this operation is performed through the display on the dashboard. First, make sure that there are no consumers (devices) turned on, then turn on the ignition. Look at the digital display, and on the steering wheel, locate the button/dial that is on the left side of the dashboard, and press it quickly three times. After the third press, the display should show the word "batt" and the voltage value. If the value is between 12.6/12.8 V, the battery is in excellent condition; between 12.4 and 12.5, the battery is charged to 75%, so it is still in good condition. Between 12.2 and 12.3, the battery is at 50%; it is advisable to check the charge status with a battery charger. Below 12.0 V, the battery is discharged. To verify that the alternator is charging properly, start the engine and follow the same steps: the reading should be between 13.8 and 14.5 V. If we read a value lower than 12.6 V, the alternator is not charging; if we read a value higher (for example, over 15.0), the alternator may be faulty and could be damaging the battery.
